         While topical spills may be the most common problem damaging laminate floors today and are not covered by warranties, Duravel's™ comprehensive testing includes clicking 2 boards together, laying them over a paper towel and adding a tablespoon of water to create a small puddle at the seam.  After 3 hours, the boards are dried and lifted, exposing the paper towel below.  The paper towel is inspected for any signs of moisture.  We then wait 3 -5 days to ensure no swelling has occurred at the seams.  All Duravel™ v-groove floors must pass this test, as well as, receive positive feedback from local installers regarding ease of installation.

         Topical spills are not covered by our warranty, however, we urge you to test the product with water and notice the exceptional tolerance, be sure to use boards that have the same production run for your test.  Cutting one sample board in half and clicking the two pieces together will insure that you are using the same production run for testing.  Slight changes in milling are common in different productions and will not produce actual results.  Be sure to always install boards from one production in all connecting areas that do not use a t-molding separation.  We have tested 8.3mm Duravel™ V-Groove floors for as long as 8 hours, while 12mm products will only hold a small puddle at the seams for 2 to 3 hours.  Different liquids will produce different results; ammonia like substances like urine (pet accidents) must be cleaned and dried immediately.  Other liquids such as household cleaners and beverages may cause damage much sooner than water (including but not limited to swelling at the seams).
